Participants will gain knowledge about ship structural design, understanding aspects of strength, corrosion and fatigue.

Basic concepts of structural design (material, failure modes, modelling)
Rule-based design (role of classification society, longitudinal strength, background of rules exemplified for bulkheads)
Corrosion and design for corrosion
Design for fatigue
