Marine Safety Management Systems

At the 85th session of the IMO Maritime Safety Committee important amendments were made to the International Safety Management (ISM) Code which will come into effect on 1st July 2010 through resolution MSC.273(85).

This module will inform about the revisions in details, how safety management systems will be affected and explain what actions are required by companies to ensure compliance. A practical case study is used to illustrate possible methods for assessing risks and establishing safeguards.

Gaining knowledge of the new amendments to the ISM Code, the interpretation of the requirements and their significance.
