The module introduces the tasks and responsibilities of personnel management in shipping companies and crewing agents which result directly and indirectly from the relevant maritime regulations.

The module also deals with the requirements for the qualification of maritime personnel.


Course objective

Participants will gain knowledge about how to implement the requirements of relevant regulations with regard to the manning of vessels and the qualification of crews.

  • Requirements regarding the documentation of the tasks
  • Legal background, such as SOLAS, STCW 95, the ISM and ISPS Code as well as ISO 9001:2000
