Extended Dry Docking

Extended Dry Docking

Ship Technology

Surveys in dry dock at certain intervals are mandatory (SOLAS) for every vessel. For the first time some flag states and GL are offering the opportunity to extend this interval up to 7 1/2 years.

There are certain preconditions for this extension to be authorised, for example, the availability of a planned maintenance system. By shifting the period of dry docking within the first 15 years in the ship's life cycle significant cost-savings can be achieved.
This seminar presents all the preconditions in detail and gives support through related guidelines. The complete process - from first request to the exemption letter - will be discussed and presented with examples. Useful checklists and tools are provided as part of the seminar materials.
