Marine Safety Management Systems
The different types and phases of audits and the principles for their conduct are introduced. A systematic approach to internal auditing is explained by means of practical case studies related to ISM audits on board ships and within their operating offices and ISPS audits of the Ship Security Plan.
Possible disputes occurring during audit performance are dealt with in a role play exercise. The workshop is based on the recommendations for the qualification of auditors contained in ISO Standard 19011.
