Management Systems Certification
In order to increase supply chain security, GLC certifies transport and logistics companies according to the FSR (Freight Security Requirements) of TAPA, the Technology Asset Protection Association. Further standards aiming at improving supply chain management include the CCQI (Cool Chain Quality Indicator) and the CTQI (Container Terminal Quality Indicator), a benchmarking tool for container terminals. Both standards were co-developed by GL.
In 1997 the Transported Asset Protection Association (TAPA) was set up in North America by security managers from leading manufacturers of high-value products to fight the global growth in high-value freight crime. Since then, TAPA has grown into a unique forum of manufacturers, freight carriers and handlers, law enforcement agencies, security and logistics professionals, insurers and other stakeholders - united by the common aim of reducing losses in the global transport, handling and storage of high-value goods.

In a large organisation an integrated management system is of particular significance. It takes a holistic look at all the quality, environmental, safety and risk issues an organisation faces and comes up with mutually consistent standards and strategies. Here, too, GL Certification has the experience and expertise to provide supportive advice and practical assistance.
