Within the scope of Prototype Testing measurements of power curve, noise emission, electrical characteristics, test of turbine behaviour, load measurements and prototype trial of gearboxes are certified by GL. Measurements are an integral part of the certification process: design calculations and performance of safety and control systems are verified by the Prototype Testing.

For the incorporation of measurements in the certification process the measurements shall be performed by independent institutions accredited according to ISO / IEC 17025, alternatively witnessing of the calibration and plausibility checks of the measurements by the GL Renewables Certification or by an accredited institute are required. The test of the gearbox on the manufacturers test bench shall be witnessed by GL Renewables Certification.
