System Certification
Management standards for sustainability
Germanischer Lloyd System Certification (GLC) offers certification of a large variety of management systems in the fields of quality, the environment, health and safety as well as risk management.
International accreditations and approvals
GL offers certification audits under national and international accreditation bodies such as the "Deutsche Akkreditierungsstelle GmbH (DAkks)", "Bundesagentur für Arbeit and the "Kraftfahrtbundesamt (KBA)" in Germany. The INMETRO (Brazil), EMA (Mexico), ECAC (Egypt) and PCA (Poland) have also approved of GL's certification services.
ISO 9001:2008
The certification of your management system according to DIN EN ISO 9001:2008 proves that your company is working diligently to establish quality and performance objectives. The ISO 9001:2008 norm contains a commitment to continuous improvement and a process-orientated approach. The overall aim is to achieve customer satisfaction through consistent products and services.
ISO 14001:2004
More and more, organisations are required to demonstrate a sound management of economic, social and environmental issues to ensure sustainable development. Outlining the requirements for an environmental management system, a certification according to ISO 14001 covers all the environmental activities of your organisation, helping to minimise negative effects on the environment and to comply with applicable laws and regulations.
BS OHSAS 18001:2007
Compatible with the ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 14001:2004 standards, BS OHSAS 18001:2007 stands for an implemented occupational health and safety management system. The certification helps to identify hazards and to evaluate and control risks. Furthermore, lost work days, accidents and medical claims are reduced, while recognition by insurers and employee satisfaction are improved.
Aerospace
The EN 9100 standard applies to all companies in the aerospace industry, including suppliers, dealers and service providers. During the certification process, our auditors assess the documentation of raw materials, tools, procedures and employees, as well as communication with customers and authorities or risk analysis when introducing new technologies.
Logistics standards
In order to increase supply chain security, GLC certifies transport and logistics companies according to the FSR (Freight Security Requirements) of TAPA, the Technology Asset Protection Association. To better control risks in the overall transport process, mitigate losses and prevent disruptions, we also offer certification according to ISO 28000. Further standards aiming at improving supply chain management include the CCQI (Cool Chain Quality Indicator) and the CTQI (Container Terminal Quality Indicator), a benchmarking tool for container terminals. Both standards were co-developed by GL. To ensure high-quality reefer ship operation, i.e. reduction of claims during handling and transportation through technical and organisational requirements, GLC certifies reefer ships according the Quality 360 standard.
