Erik van der Noordaa
Erik van der Noordaa was appointed Chairman of the Executive Board of Germanischer Lloyd SE on December 1, 2010. Mr van der Noordaa is also responsible for Maritime Services. Mr van der Noordaa is a graduate in naval architecture and mechanical engineering.

After completing his studies, he started his career in 1986 at Damen Shipyards Group, a globally active shipbuilding group with headquarters in Gorinchem, the Netherlands. In the first four years of his service there, Mr van der Noordaa was employed in various areas of the Group as a ship development engineer, after which he took on the responsibility of expanding the European sales and marketing activities.
In 2000, Mr van der Noordaa assumed responsibility for Damen Shipyards, Gorinchem, the largest yard location of the Group and, in 2004, he was named a Member of the Executive Board of the Damen Group. His area of responsibility included, amongst other duties, the management of the yards in the Netherlands, Romania, Poland, China, Vietnam, Singapore and Cuba. Moreover, he had the global product stewardship for tugs and fast patrol boats.
In his last position, Mr van der Noordaa was Chief Operations Officer, responsible for the operations of all 35 production companies of Damen Shipyards Group, with a total of 6,000 employees and an annual turnover of 1.2 billion euros.

Pekka Paasivaara
Pekka Paasivaara studied Business Informatics in Helsinki/Finland as well as at the University of South Carolina in the USA. In 1993, the Finn successfully completed his MBA studies in Lausanne/Switzerland.

From 1994 to 1998, Paasivaara held his first leadership position at ABB. At Bosch Rexroth, he headed the drive and control technology department until 2004. From 2005 until 2007, Paasivaara was Member of the Executive Board at Lenze AG, being responsible for sales, service and marketing.
Since February 2008, Pekka Paasivaara has been Member of the Executive Board of Germanischer Lloyd and is responsible for the Industrial Services segment.

Dr Joachim Segatz
Dr Joachim Segatz studied Mechanical Engineering with emphasis on aircraft construction and fluid mechanics at the Technical University Braunschweig, Germany.

After having received a PhD in physics and chemistry at the University of Heidelberg, Dr Segatz worked as consultant at McKinsey & Company from 1995 to 1998. Since 1998, Dr Segatz has been working in different divisions of the Tchibo GmbH. His last assignment before joining Germanischer Lloyd was at Tchibo Logistik GmbH, Bremen, where Dr Segatz has been holding the position of Managing Director.
He is a Member of the Executive Board of Germanischer Lloyd since 1 September 2007 and is responsible for the financial division.
