Water and Wastewater Utilities

Essentials is an asset-tracking, inspection and field data collection system for water and wastewater utilities.

Essentials contains an asset register that acts as an enterprise repository for plant and other assets not maintained in the GIS. It can be directly integrated to the GIS to eliminate duplication of asset data and can augment assets maintained in GIS with detailed attribution, settings and engineering information.

A powerful scheduling component facilitates the assignment and management of any scheduled activity related to the assets. Managed activities can require specific actions by field crew and maintenance personnel which are tracked and reported via the management interface. An alert system provides notification to management when critical activities are approaching, or have not been completed within defined thresholds. Asset types, attributes and scheduled activities of any complexity and variety are easily created within the management interface.

The Field Management utility allows for integration with hand-held mobile devices. Field crew can visualize overdue activities in a GIS view and locate associated schedules in Essentials. Forms can be "pushed out" to field crew for completion to document scheduled activities.

Essentials is developed using standard IT architectures and databases. Total cost of ownership is much lower than traditional work management or ERP solutions. A single Essentials implementation can be deployed across multiple departments and utility practices (electric, gas, water, etc.).
