At GL, Rules and Guidelines are developed through extensive research and development, the know-how and experience of our engineers, many of whom have gathered work experience at shipyards, with marine suppliers and/or ship operators, and the close feedback of our worldwide network of surveyors. Our Construction Rules and calculation methods represent the current state of scientific development. And to ensure that Field Service experience is quickly incorporated in our Rules and Guidelines, the engineering for newbuildings and fleet service is concentrated in one department and at one location.
